New Hymn from Parish Day

Part of the Parish Day contained space to produce something artistic. This was one result. It can be sung to the Tune Woodlands.
Moorland Pilgrims
We Moorland pilgrims journey on our way.
Through life we hear God’s call, help us obey.
We look to Christ to point us in his way.
Shine in our darkness, Lord our light, we pray.

We Moorland pilgrims know life’s fog and night
Can cloud our vision, and your leading light.
Come Holy Spirit blow away all fear
And lead us homeward, knowing God is near.

We Moorland pilgrims gaze on crosses tall,
A silent witness to your constant call
To walk your narrow way is our desire,
Come Holy Spirit like a swailing fire.

We Moorland pilgrims love the windswept tors,
The farms, the fields that stretch across the moors
Let all creation glorify your name
We sing our praise, to Christ, who for us came.

We Moorland pilgrims see a standing stone,
Imagine Tinners from a time unknown,
Our history lives, and every breath we take
Inspires us all to live for his name’s sake.
